At the 2012 Des Moines Home & Garden Show Landscapes by Design, Inc. is excited to announce that it will be one of the four “Featured Gardens” at the this year’s homeshow.

The Des Moines Home & Garden Show will take place February 9th – 12th at the Iowa Events Center in downtown Des Moines.

For this year’s featured garden our display will incorporate native plantings with natural stone. The garden will feature a custom natural stone bar and pub table, natural stone water feature, elevated kitchen / dinning area, secluded outdoor living area with a fire pit, and LED lighting.

The Landscaper is a premium WordPress theme designed specifically for lawn, landscaping and gardening business. We’ve done extensive research so we know what your company needs. The theme is very easy to setup and use. Demo content is imported with a single click so you can immediately start editing your website.

Like all of our installations, the Home Show display began with a plan. In this case we also used 3D design software to create a rendering of what the final installation would look like and how it would occupy the space on the show room floor.

The rendering is a helpful tool to communicate the scale of the project and how different design elements will eventually fit together.

We started our install on Monday, just four days before the show. A tight deadline when considering the huge amount of material required for the Feature Garden:

Character boulders and stone (20 tons)

Outdoor fire place (assembly required!)

Concrete pavers (400 square feet)

Hardwood mulch (7 cubic yards)

Plant material (including trees!)

The final display is impressive and is a showcase of everything we do at Landscapes by Design.
